Ensure your host computer meets the requirements for running the virtual machine.
Download and install VirtualBox and VirtualBox Extension Pack from following link – which is a cross-platform virtualization application
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/DownloadsCloud-this; Cloud-that; Cloud blah blah blah. Are you one of those who think “this is the same old stuff we’ve been doing for years with a new name”? Well, you’re a little-bit right, but mostly you’re wrong! In this session you will learn that the cloud is in fact a combination of features enabling your organization to maximize its IT resources and while getting out of the data center business. Cloud provides a combination of on-demand self-service, broad network access, resource pooling, rapid elasticity, and measured service. Organizations use cloud Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (Saas) depending upon their need and their desire to manage the environment. Finally, choices must be made to use Public Cloud, Private Cloud, or a Hybrid Cloud. Attendees will understand the specifics of cloud architecture and how their organizations can leverage cloud to best advantage.
The objective of the session is to make the users familiarize with the EBS - India GST road map and also share the flavor of the India GST solution.
This Oracle University Master Class discusses Parallel Execution, covering Parallel Query,
DML and DDL. It begins by discussing the architecture for Parallel Execution in both Single
Instance and RAC. It then describes Administration of parallelism, and the monitoring of
Parallel execution SQL Statements. It then moves to the use of Automatic Parallelism introduced in 11g Release 2, covering the Administration and effects of Auto-Parallelism parameters, Automatic Parallelism behaviour, Parallel Statement queuing, use of The Resource Manager to control per consumer group queuing and In-Memory Parallel Query.
You have heard about SQL Injection attacks; but what about PL/SQL Injection? It’s more common than you may think. In this session you will learn about defensive coding to prevent PL/SQL bijection attacks using techniques such as NLS parameters, assertion testing, literal pollution and much more. At the end your code will be much less susceptible to PL/SQL Injection attacks.
Value
Security is no longer a nice to have, it’s a requirement thanks to many regulations and mandates worldwide. While SQL Injection has a wider understanding, PL/SQL Injection is virtually unheard of and therefore is a favorite vehicle of attackers. In this session attendees will learn the tips and techniques to prevent it for a more secure coding environment.

This presentation covers the possibly hottest topic in DevOps in since 2015: Docker.
Docker and Oracle seem like a marriage of fire and ice, or free and constantly changing open source versus licensed enterprise software.
Docker containers are open source, low overhead, can be started in milliseconds. Containerized applications can be run without changes on premise as well as in most public clouds such as AWS and GCE.
In this presentation we review the underlying fundamentals of Docker, the command-line interface, and explain typical usage patterns. Advanced Docker concepts such as Docker Compose, Docker Machine, Docker Swarm, and native Docker on Solaris, Windows or Mac OS are explained.
Then we look at the role of Docker in the Oracle ecosystem of products. We cover WebLogic 12c on Docker which is officially certified by Oracle since March 2015. Also the Oracle Docker cloud service will be reviewed.
An earlier version of this presentation received a lot of positive feedback at the northern leg of OTN Latin America tour last year. This presentation also includes some demos!
Oracle Database and Oracle Enterprise Manager continuously introduce new, exciting capabilities that help improve database administrator productivity and maximize database performance while reducing management costs. As a classical Oracle database administrators, you know how to deal with fat data sets already. Big data is little different as more than its size, what matters is the variety and velocity. Businesses are staking a lot to find the data nuggets out of noisy heaps. There is a lot that DBAs can contribute in this shift. Not just the data availability, but DBAs can transform themselves into data architects by stepping out of classical database administration skills. This session will focus on skill areas that can help Oracle DBAs to emerge as Big Data DBAs. The talk will cover the overview of big data ecosystem, key Big Data technologies and what DBAs can leverage from their current skill set to focus on big data DBA.

You are tuning a SQL statement, as a first step you got the execution plan. So what next - Should we add hints, cache the table, create index and the list goes on. SQL Performance tuning can be complex task if you run after symptoms and not hitting the root cause, thus making it a guessing game. The session demonstrates how the Query optimizer analyzes and works. The session talks about
1. Where to start and what to look for - Real time use case walk through
2. Hints, Index and In-memory myths
3. Query rewrite methods for better performance
4. Understand how to utilize new Oracle features with know how use cases.
SQL tuning continues to be one of the most challenging tasks that DBAs perform on a routine basis. DBAs spend considerable time identifying and fixing SQL regressions in production environments. This session explores a practical approach for eliminating the guesswork out of SQL performance tuning using the Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor, SQL Tuning Advisor, Real-Time SQL Monitoring, SQL Performance Analyzer, and SQL Performance Analyzer Quick Check features. Learn when and how to best use these complementary tools with real-world case studies that help optimize your database performance in a risk-free manner.

This presentation is based on the most successful, long-running, and independent WebLogic 12c presentation at Oracle World. In 2015 over two hundred attendees signed up for it!
Oracle likes to emphasize that there are more than 200 new features in Oracle WebLogic Server 12c. This session takes a different approach and presents only the key reasons that make it worth using the latest Oracle WebLogic Server 12c. The features presented in this session are technical—derived from attendees’ questions in many hands-on workshops—without any sales pitch and somehow subjective. Also, if limitations exist, they will be mentioned.
Everything that makes upgrading to the latest Oracle WebLogic Server 12c worth it will be covered, including core features, important changes, and Oracle WebLogic Server running in a Docker container.
