In-Memory Technologies at Oracle: to boldly go where in-memory has never gone before
Limited Capacity seats available

In this session we will cover Oracle's unique inmemory technology portfolio, featuring powerful inmemory database technologies for transaction processing as well as for analytics.  The Oracle TimesTen In-Memory database, used by thousands of customers,  is a lightweight superfast embeddable database,  providing microsecond response times for high velocity transaction processing applications.  Within Oracle Database,  Database In-Memory (originally released with Oracle Database 12.1.0.2)  is an unprecedented breakthrough inmemory columnar technology providing massive performance gains for analytical and mixed enterprise workloads, with the ability to process data in real-time at the rate of billions of rows per second. In the upcoming Oracle 12.2 release, Database In-Memory is further enhanced with a number of features to further improve on its already outstanding performance, as well as with several features to improve the overall capacity, fault tolerance and manageability of the inmemory column store. A novel aspect of this inmemory technology is with its deep integration with Software-In-Silicon in the SPARC M7 processor, which embeds specific functions to improve both the performance and the capacity of the inmemory column store within a specialized Database Accelerator (DAX) coprocessor.

Todays modern CPUs are certainly not our Dad's CPU. CPUs have advanced through various features like Cores, Threads, Caches etc however the tools and utilities used to monitor CPU have changed little. The Real World Performance will show how CPU monitoring tools can give misleading information resulting in poor analysis and eventually bad headroom and capacity planning decisions.

Beers & Diapers: Market Basket Analysis Using Oracle In-database Container for Hadoop
Limited Capacity seats available

Market basket analysis is known as the parable of beer and diapers or how online retailers derive business rules and sales boosting results from analyzing point of sales and transactional data that is produced and generally stored in Oracle Database. This technical session describes how to implement market basket analysis and near-real-time analytics using Oracle In-Database Container for Hadoop without shipping data to an external infrastructure, and using Hadoop algorithms and SQL. The ability to reuse existing Hadoop assets on the database server and exposing Hadoop job steps as SQL functions shield DBAs and database developers from learning Hadoop. A live demo showcases Oracle In-Database Container for Hadoop and Oracle Data Miner.

Troubleshooting and Diagnosing Oracle RAC in the Private Cloud
Limited Capacity seats available

In today's challenging cloud environments high availability of systems and diagnosability when things go wrong are more important that ever before.Oracle 12c Real Application Clusters provide a number of new features which contribute to making systems more highly available.  Among them are Flex Clusters, Flex ASM, Application Continuity , Rapid Home Provisioning and Memory Guard.  ORAchk also plays a role by helping customers proactively avoid known problems before they can lead to service interruptions.  Finally, if problems occur in spite of all precautions it is necessary to gather first failure diagnostics in a thorough and timely way.  Oracle Trace File Analyzer Collector (TFA) is the tool to help you with that task.  This session will cover all of these topics and tools necessary in order to present an end to end method for increasing availability and diagnosing problems if they arise.

Containerizing Oracle: Why you should be thinking about it if you aren't
Limited Capacity seats available

Today DBAs are still using traditional methods like virtualization to consolidate databases in their data centers. With Oracle Multitenant consolidation efforts have received a great positive thrust but there are still concerns about performance loss and manageability challenges. We will explore these prevalent approaches, and will elaborate how to use container technologies like LXC and Docker to overcome some of the current road blocks and consolidate databases without compromising performance while guarantying isolation and no manageability changes. We will demonstrate how to run an Oracle database using linux containers and how we can simplify some of the most common lifecycle management tasks using the robin containerization platform.

Policy based cluster Management in 12c
Limited Capacity seats available

Oracle Clusterware 11g R2 introduced server pools as a means for specifying resource placement and administering server allocation and access. However,   all servers were considered to be equal in relation to processors, memory and other characteristics. This can lead to  sub-optimal performance of some applications if the servers  assigned to the server pools hosting those applications do not meet applications' requirements.

Oracle Grid Infrastructure 12c enhances the use of server pools by introducing server attributes e.g. memory, CPU_count etc. which can be associated with each server. Server pools can be configured so that their members belong to a category of servers, which share a particular set of attributes. Moreover,  administrators can maintain a library of policies and switch between them as required rather than manually reallocating servers to various server pools based on workload. This paper discusses in detail the new features of policy based cluster management in 12c.

Promising new features of Data Guard/ADG 12.2
Limited Capacity seats available

So far we are amazed with the Data Guard new features of 12c(12.1.0.x) and now the new 12c Release 2 taking to the next level with some amazing new features and lot of flexibility for the new features of 12cR1 with few more add-ons in 12cR2. In fact there are many new features in 12.1 but they are not fully operateable, for example Far Sync we can create complete manual methods in 12.1 but now from 12.2 we can create either by using EM or RMAN and creating standby database using DBCA, No logging support for DWH databases, No more overhead of password file synchornizaion and now if any changes of passwords in primary and they also get replicated on standby and now we can realize how beautiful the new features are! In terms of RAC primary and standby databases even though huge redo changes on primary still MRP we can start from standby and now no more worreis MRP can be started from multiple instnaces, thus how Oracle 12.2 Data Guard/Active Data Guard have promising new features.

WebLogic 12c: What You Need to Know
Limited Capacity seats available

This presentation is based on the most successful, long-running, and independent WebLogic 12c presentation at Oracle World. In 2015 over two hundred attendees signed up for it!

Oracle likes to emphasize that there are more than 200 new features in Oracle WebLogic Server 12c. This session takes a different approach and presents only the key reasons that make it worth using the latest Oracle WebLogic Server 12c. The features presented in this session are technical—derived from attendees’ questions in many hands-on workshops—without any sales pitch and somehow subjective. Also, if limitations exist, they will be mentioned.
